It is rather agile and very aware of your presence, so sneak attacks will be effective. The white stag spawns somewhat randomly just outside Falkreath, so all you need to do is follow the quest marker. The Cursed Ring of Hircine auto-equips itself to The Dragonborn and may cause random werewolf transformations until the quest is completed. Sinding will escape the cell as you head off to begin the hunt. Sinding tasks you with hunting a rare white stag in the woods nearby to gain the favor of Hircine to ask him to remove the curse. Hircine cursed the ring in retaliation, and Sinding could not fight off his wolf side, which ultimately killed the young girl. The man reveals himself as Sinding, a werewolf who stole the Ring of Hircine from the Daedric prince in an attempt to control his transformations. The prisoner will notice you and slowly approach the cell door.
